Image to 3D Model Free
Upload a photo or sketch and get a textured 3D model you can rotate, inspect and print. Your first model needs no account, no email and no card.
Every model exports as GLB, OBJ, STL and PLY — you pick the format after it is done, not before.

A real Sculptly output from our benchmark run — your result appears here once you upload an image.

One picture in. A textured model out.
Upload a photo, drawing or render and get a textured GLB in two to three minutes. Turn it around, check it from every side, then export.

Free tier, stated in full
Generate one model with no account, no email and no card. You can rotate and inspect it in full, and registering is what releases the download. 1 more generations after you register: 2 free in total, not a daily allowance. Separately, eleven 3D tools on this site run in your browser and are free with no cap at all. Generating uploads your image to our servers; the eleven free tools never do.

Exactly where free ends
2 generations, then eleven tools that never stop.
Most free tiers are described in a way that sounds larger than it is. Here is the whole thing, in the order you would meet it.
One model, no account at all
Free, once per network
Generate without signing in, without an email and without a card — one lifetime demo per IP address, not a daily allowance. You can rotate and inspect the result in full; the download is the step that asks for an account, and your model is kept across the sign-up.
3 credits at signup
Free, once per account
A new account receives 3 credits right away, and one textured generation costs 3 — that's 1 model outright — a real trial, but a fixed one, not an ongoing quota.
Then the plans, and we say so up front
From $3, one-off
That is 2 free generations in total — one before you register and 1 after — and then a credit pack from $3 or a plan from $19/mo. It does not renew each day, and there is no version of this page where the free path quietly continues.
Eleven browser tools, unlimited, forever
Free with no cap
The GLB viewer, splat viewer, voxelizer, mesh repair, OBJ to STL converter, STL to 3MF converter, STL simplifier, mold generator, scene composer, print cost calculator, and lithophane generator are not trials. They run entirely inside your browser on files you own, have no upload endpoint, no credit cost and no account requirement, and they will still be free when your generation credits have run out.
Honest by design
What we are not doing to the free output.
2 generations is a trial, and we call it one
2 free models is enough to find out whether single-image reconstruction suits your subject. It is not enough to finish a project on, and a page that implied otherwise would be setting up the wall it later runs you into.
Free output is not crippled — it is the whole pipeline
No watermark on the model, no locked formats, no export that costs extra: an account gets GLB, OBJ and STL from the same run, whether it has ever paid or not. Since 16 September 2026 the free tier runs the same Turbo model at the same settings a paying account gets on an ordinary generation — there is no higher-resolution texture or lighter mesh simplification to buy any more. What paying does get you: the separate High Detail model, the commercial licence with no attribution line, API access, more credits, and a higher concurrency cap. The one thing an account buys at the free tier is the download itself: the anonymous demo previews the model, and registering releases the files.
Free does not mean print-ready
Cost is not the limit that will bite you first. A single image cannot see hidden surfaces, so any export is an editable draft that can carry open boundaries — which is why the hole check and repair tool are free too, rather than being the upsell.
These eleven browser tools run entirely on your device, on files you already own — not only on models generated here — with no credit cost and no account.

Which format, and what to do about holes.
Every generation — free or paid — exports GLB, OBJ and STL from the same run, so the format decision costs nothing to get wrong. If you are heading for a 3D printer, the STL page covers what a slicer wants and why a single-image mesh usually needs a repair pass first.
Image to STL, for printing →Frequently asked questions about the free tier
Is the image to 3D model conversion really free, or is it a trial?
Both, and the split matters. Generating 3D models is a trial: one model with no account, plus 1 more once you register, for 2 in total. The eleven browser-based tools are not a trial at all — the GLB viewer, splat viewer, voxelizer, mesh repair, OBJ to STL converter, STL to 3MF converter, STL simplifier, mold generator, scene composer, print cost calculator, and lithophane generator have no cap, no credit cost and no account requirement, because they run on your own machine and cost us nothing to serve.
Do I need to sign up to convert an image to a 3D model for free?
Not for the first one. An anonymous visitor gets one free generation per network with no email and no card. Signing up is what unlocks 1 more free generation, and it is also what lets you download rather than only preview.
Is the free model watermarked or lower quality?
No. The free output is the same mesh a paid generation produces, at the same texture resolution, and a free account exports it in the same three formats. We do not degrade free output to sell the paid tier; the paid tier sells volume. The anonymous demo is the one case with a limit that is not about quality — it previews the model, and registering is what releases the download.
What happens after the 2 free generations run out?
The eleven browser tools keep working, unchanged and uncapped. For more generations, a one-time credit pack is $9 and never expires, or a subscription starts at $19/mo with $9 for the first month. Nothing renews unless you choose a subscription.
Is my image uploaded when I use the free generation?
Yes. Generating runs on a server, so an image you convert here leaves your device whether the generation is free or paid. The eleven free browser tools are the opposite case — they have no upload endpoint at all, so files opened in them never leave your machine.
Can I use a free model commercially?
Yes, and that is deliberately different from most of this category — free output here is not blocked from commercial use. You may use models generated from images you own or are authorised to use, and you remain responsible for rights in the source image and for how the output is used. One condition while an account has never bought anything: credit Sculptly — “Made with Sculptly” plus a link to sculptly3d.com — wherever you publish or sell it. Any purchase removes that for every model on the account, including ones made earlier. Personal use never needs it.
Real numbers from our pipeline
How the free generations actually went.
Between September 4 and October 4, 2026, real visitors (bots, test accounts and our own runs removed) submitted 2,371 images here, and 2,180 (91.9%) came back as a model. The typical wait from submitting an image to a model you can rotate was 81 seconds; one run in ten took longer than 165 seconds (1,989 runs timed since September 8).
The most common way a run goes wrong is a flat result: 85 of 2,176 submissions since September 7 (3.9%) came back as the picture on a thin slab rather than an object. Those are not delivered and use no credits. It is the expected outcome for flat artwork, so if your image is a logo, a name or a sign, trace it with PNG to STL instead of asking a model to guess at depth.
